my profile by GPAC

1.       I selected the inspiration pieces because they remind me of two things. One is that they remind me of how I used to look up to the older people in my life like my mom and dad. The other last inspiration piece is my daughter in front of her favorite painting of the day. I want her to look up to me like I looked up to my parents.
2.       I am a drafter at work and I create glass windows and curtain wall glazing like the Galleria Mall fronts and the Buffalo Convention Center Marquis and the Seneca Allegany Casino. After taking this class I use every day to instead of just draw things to create masterpieces of art. It has made me like my job even more. That is why I wanted to take AutoCAD and draw my portrait.
3.       I found it hard to take a picture of myself so my daughter took it for me.
4.       I like this piece because I have always looked up to my parents for advice and have had a very good upbringing of caring for others. I am shown looking into the sky because unfortunately my dad is passed on, I know he is there looking down on me a very proud dad. I have stars in the sky because I am always reaching toward the next level of achievement in my life to take care of my wife and family.
5.       After taking the picture I emailed it to myself and then inserted it into AutoCAD. I then began to trace the features of my face. I then copied it over to the side and deleted the picture which left the traced outline. I then began hatching the areas around my face and added a picture frame surrounding my profile.
6.       This was very enjoyable for me to do. I remember back when I went to ECC and interned at Boston Valley Terra Cotta. We used to trace artwork from the blocks for the molders to recreate the sculptures. My favorite was the lion head that I had to create all the views of the sculpture by tracing.
7.       I am impressed with the artwork and I can feel the image as well as just see it.
